If someone is negligent and you are injured such that you are unable to do your job, you may be entitled to future lost wages and monies for the loss of earning capacity. A simple example would be someone who makes $1,000.00 per week as a body shop mechanic but after the accident, they can no longer do that work and can only do work that earns $500.00 per week. Here the claim for wages could be for the difference – $500.00 per week – for the rest of the injured person’s work life.
