Shoulder injuries are common following car accident. Oftentimes, these injuries are caused by the shoulder harness part of the seat belt. Many times, the shoulder injury is someone soft tissue/muscular in nature. These sort of injuries simply require therapy and thus the value of these cases can be relatively low. On the other hand, if someone has a rotator cuff tear that requires surgery, the value of the cases would generally be much higher. First of all, the cost of a rotator cuff tear can cost tens of thousands of dollars. Even with in rotator cuff tear surgery cases, there can be large differences in the size of the tear and thus the extent of the injury and cost of the surgery. Similar to the other posts on the valuation topic, it is difficult to put an exact figure on the value of these injuries as many factors come into play – age of plaintiff, amount of medical bills, extent of shoulder injury, amount of liability insurance available, ultimate result after treatment, and many other factors.
