Quick questions with quick answers in Florida personal injury cases: Is there a certain number of times you should go to the doctor in a car accident case?

No, there really should not be a fixed number of visits that someone goes to a doctor following a car accident case. This is a question that we get periodically because either the client wants to know how many times they need to go or the doctor office. Generally, the doctor is going to do periodic exams of the patient to determine, based on the doctor’s experience, how much more treatment is needed. Everyone is different and people heal at different rates; thus, no two people should need the exact amount of treatment. Certainly, doctors see trends based on someone’s age and the injuries shown on the tests and can estimate the amount of treatment needed. But again, generally the treatment should be something determined by the doctor periodically based on the symptoms and the patient’s response to the treatment.
