Yes, generally motor vehicles are required to have BOTH personal injury protection (PIP) of $10,000.00 limits and property damage coverage limits of $10,000.00. The property damage coverage generally pays for the other person’s car that you damage with your car or someone else’s property that you damage with your car (like if you drive into a fence, etc.). If someone were to sue you for property damage, then this insurance would hire you a lawyer and indemnify you against judgment up to the policy limits.
