I have been a lawyer now for about 32 years as of September 2026.
During law school, I had several jobs. In the first summer, i worked for a couple of young lawyers and they taught me how to write motions and gave me an idea of what it was like to work in a law firm. Thereafter, i worked for a probate judge in Miami state courthouse and then for a federal magistrate judge in the federal courthouse during the second year of law school. That helped me work for a worker’s compensation lawyer in Miami where I did a lot of different areas of law but mostly helped the lawyer and his associate with various legal projects.
All of that helped me get my first job as a lawyer at a commercial litigation boutique law firm in Boca Raton. This is where I really learned a lot about the law. The law firm had four partners (and about 6-10 associates at various times) and I was able to work with all of the partners, even though typically an associate was assigned to just one partner. So getting exposure to different areas of law and different styles of lawyering was really beneficial in developing my own style of practice.
After about four or five years at that litigation boutique firm, I joined a friend and opened a personal injury law firm in Coral Springs, Florida. That firm grew to about four lawyers and about 10 people but then that firm was split up and I moved my half of the law firm to Boca and have been here for over 20 years. The firm motto has always been, Personal Injury deserves person attention, and I believe that goal has been effectuated.
